This simple but charming Dutch costume is based on those worn in the region of Volendam and is perhaps the best known of all the costumes of Holland.

This sweet little outfit consists of a mid-blue dress with three-quarter length cuffed sleeves and floral 'insert' edged with braid at the neck. The bodice is fully lined. 

The gathered skirt ends just below the knees and is decorated near the hem with black ribbon. 

Also included is a striped cotton apron and a traditional stiffened and lined lace hat.
