Elizabeth I near the end of her reign has been
faithfully reproduced with a doll dressed in perhaps the most famous style
associated with the Queen.
Elizabeth's underskirt is a richly embroidered fabric, hemmed with gold
braid. Her gown is also a golden colour and is
trimmed with a gold silky braid. The
bodice comes to a sharp 'V' at the centre, and a chain of white rhinestone
and pearl
beads falls from the point. The large round organza soft ruff has been edged with lace.
Sleeves end are elaborately 'puffed' and have a scalloped white lace cuff.
Elizabeth carries gloves and a
feathered fan in her hands.
Jewellery includes a necklace with red stones, long rhinestone
chain, jewel hair decoration and pearl 'earrings' and coloured stone 'rings'.
