Ghosts

THE SPECTRE AT THE MASQUERADE.

‘The masquerade was in full flow but suddenly the temperature of the room dropped and all eyes were drawn to the hazy figure of a young woman standing in the corner. Her skin seemed strangely pale and her clothes were very fine but belonged to another long-ago era. She seemed to shimmer in the gloom of the candlelight as she gazed wistfully at the revellers who stood gaping at her, open-mouthed in surprise. Suddenly she gave a faint smile before turning away and walking through a doorway long-since disappeared into the mists of time.’

A lavishly dressed one-twelfth scale porcelain lady ghost doll wearing a costume of the mid 1600’s. This lovely ghost, cast in translucent white bisque porcelain, wears a gown of fine ivory silk jacquard edged with silver braid and trimmed with lace, crystals and ribbon bows. Her sumptuous underskirt is decorated with shining pearls and twinkling sequins on white lace over silver silk. Underneath she wears lace-trimmed pantaloons and matching petticoat along with tiny real leather shoes embellished with bows and crystals.
Over her eyes this beautiful ghost lady wears a feather and crystal trimmed silver mask, delicately tied with silver cord at the back of her fancy hairstyle. In her hand she carries a white and silver feather fan.
